We are looking forward to each of you attending your child’s Parent Teacher Conference this week. Teachers are ready to share information on your child’s progress this school year. As we move into the second semester of your child’s 4th or 5th grade year, Park Avenue staff has agreed on several targeted areas that will be focused on to assist in improving student achievement. Goals:
We appreciate all you do to support students and staff at Park Avenue as we are a team working to improve student learning.
Lauren Laws Principal Interim TestingAt the end of each quarter your child takes an Interim Assessment for Math and English Language Arts (ELA). These computerized assessments are rigorous and the purpose of these tests are to identify areas of academic improvement or enrichment that each student needs. Teachers analyze their student data and meet with Administration to discuss next step actions that will occur to meet student deficits. If you have any questions concerning your students performance on these assessments please contact your child’s teacher. Teachers will be going over this information with you at Parent Teacher Conferences in February. How to change after school plans
When you need to change where your child will go after school, please use the PickUp Patrol app from your smartphone or computer. You will no longer need to call the office or send a note to change your child's after school plans. If you did not receive an email or have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact the office.
Look in the Homepage Locker for a flyer with more information or visit www.PickUpPatrol.net. Safety AlertPlease drop off your students on Hartman Street before school. There have been several incidences where parents are dropping off students on Navajo Street or Park Avenue, in the bus lane, or in the parking lot. This causes congestion with traffic and disrupts the bus flow. Several students have ran across Navajo unattended, which is a major safety hazard. Many students are crossing the parking lot to get to the cafeteria or the office. This is dangerous as there are often cars coming around the corner that do not see the students. Please, for your students safety, use Hartman Street as the only drop off place. Thanks! Take a look at Park Avenue

Please call the office at 334-9469 if your child will be absent. *****Please review the Student Handbook (Left side of this webpage in Homepage Locker). If you need a hard copy please come by the office and we will provide this to you. From the Health Office Remember if your child has temperature over 100 or is vomiting please keep your child home. Due to so many illnesses going around, we are requiring students to be fever/vomit free for 24 hours before returning to school if they are ill. Tylenol or Motrin can reduce the fever but the child is still ill even with these administered. Each semester parents can call/email and excuse their child for five times without a Doctor’s note after this please attain a Doctor’s note to ensure the child’s absence is excused. In extenuating circumstances please call and talk with the Principal, Mrs. Laws. ![]() Tiger TimeTiger Time is Park Avenue’s intervention or enrichment block. This occurs Tuesday-Friday from 2:30pm-3:00pm. Students may rotate to different teachers based on their specific need. During this time teachers are engaging students in targeted activities in Math and ELA. Every Day Counts!
We at Park Avenue understand that at times life gets in the way; family emergencies and health maladies never wait until Saturday. Our truancy policy wants to ensure that learning continues when students have to miss school. Please notify our school when your child is absent and arrange for make-up work to be picked up and then completed by your child. We continue to have fewer students absent each month because we all work together!
